Strongate Orchard is your rural peaceful farm stay in a comfortable static home, set within the orchard on Strongate Farm in the village of Salway Ash, just 10 minutes from the market town of Bridport. It’s an ideal base for couples or families looking to relax, recharge, and explore beautiful West Dorset. Located in a peaceful rural setting on our small working farm, there is plenty of green space outside, giving you the chance to feel close to nature. . Decking attached to the cabin provides the perfect spot for enjoying lunch or supper outdoors. A bridleway runs through the farm, offering lovely walks right from your doorstep.

We are situated within Dorset’s National Landscape, with the famous Jurassic Coast and harbour at West Bay only a 10 minute drive from Bridport’s vibrant  twice weekly street market, Charmouth’s fantastic fossil hunting, and the charming seaside town of Lyme Regis all of which are well worth a visit.

The cabin features a spacious lounge with a comfy sofa, table and chairs, and an electric fire. The open-plan galley kitchen includes a gas cooker (new in 2026), fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, and all the essentials. There are two bedrooms, both with wardrobes: one with a double bed and the other with two small single beds. Bed linen and towels are provided. Spring water and the bathroom includes a shower, with a separate toilet.

Outside, you have access to a large open green area—perfect for children to run, explore, and play. A trampoline is available for guests use and swing.  The farm is home to cattle, sheep, ducks, and geese and we look forward to sharing it with you.  We love all animals and your dog is welcome to come along on holiday with you for a samll additional charge (£20)

Cancellation policy

If the booking is cancelled less than 14 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made.
If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. If the booking is cancelled 14 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 25% of the stay will be made.

A small beef farm near Bridport in West Dorset, a garden location with flower beds - home to a variety of wildlife with birds aplenty and there is even a large grass area for football and games next to the parking area.

It is the perfect base for families wanting to experience peace and quiet and explore the Jurassic coast and countryside. It is in a rural setting on a small working farm, surrounded by trees with a bridleway running through the farm so a walk from your doorstep can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The stunning Jurassic coastline harbour of West Bay (the location of Broadchurch on TV) is less than 4 miles away.
