BAREFOOT-ON-THE-BEACH is a light, spacious, well-equipped, modern 2-BEDROOM holiday home with lovely sea & countryside views and decking. Sleeps 4 comfortably but has a double sofabed in the lounge if you need to sleep 6. It's sited in a larger green plot, and is perfect for families or couples who like to make the most of their inside and outside space - plenty of room to runaround, BBQ or to just relax & unwind.

- Concrete path leads down to the privately-owned beach. Interesting rock pools to explore one end, huge flat sandstones the other & a long wide expanse of sand that the tide exposes inbetween. All cradled & sheltered in a backdrop of the Whitecliff Bay cliffside that tells island history in its distinctive vertical geological layers of ancient woodlands, soft sands, chalks, clays, shells & crustaceans from millions of years ago

- Whether inside or out, you can watch sailing boats & liners cruise by, and early-risers can experience amazing sun-rises from it's first orange peep over the horizon, to a shining beam across the sea & into the caravan.

2025:

OCTOBER - COUPLE, HASTINGS

On-line: 9.3/10 

• Great location caravan was very clean and tidy and equipped with everything we needed to cook a meal . Jim and Sue were great in communication with us and arranged the ferry for us including changing our departure from Portsmouth .
  Would definitely book again if we return to the Isle of Wight .
• -The only problem we had was nothing to do with the Caravan but trying to get something to eat nearby we found difficult as the 2 closest to the us were fully booked even at 6pm probably our fault for not booking earlier

SEPTEMBER - COUPLE, COLCHESTER

Online: 10/10 We had a great week at Sandhills early September. The caravan was spotless, spacious and very well equipped. Sue & Jim have thought of all the little extras to make their guests feel comfortable and at home and provided so much useful local information. On-line: Beautiful, peaceful location. The caravan had everything we could need and we loved that the little extras were included so we didn’t have to think about bringing extras like hand soap, cleaning materials and kitchen essentials. Would highly recommend to others.

Guest book: We all had another amazing two weeks here on the Island. Lazy days on the beach, fishing & bodyboarding and the sun decided to bless us with a heat wave! An amazing seaview every morning to make us smile. Our happy place in 'barefoot' :) Thank you x

On-line: 10/10 Brilliant caravan it has everything you could possibly want. We have stayed in the van at different times of the year and it as always served us well,that's why we keep coming back. 
It is right on the beach so if you want to come back for lunch rather than taking everything to the beach its perfect for this. We have enjoyed many years of use of the van as it suits what we want, so if you like summer days on the beach with the family it's perfect and a great base to walk from. We Always take a walk upto culver down for a meal or a cheeky pint and enjoy the views, even in late October when you can get se some impressive weather come in. For us as a family of four its like coming home. It ticks all the boxes and we are always sad leaving and can't wait to come back.

AUGUST - FAMILY OF 4, BURTON ON TRENT

Had a lovely week. The van was lovely & appreciated all the extras touches. We enjoyed identifying the boats using the BoatWatch App you recommended. We also ate at the Propeller based on your recommendations - had a lovely roast. Swam lots in the sea, used a net to investigate the rockpools & walked in both directions along the coast path. Thanks for the use of your van.

• +The caravan was well equipped, clean and all the thoughtful stuff added. The owners were great at communicating, included all the small things that are big to us parents like beach toys, family games, crafts, chairs to lounge on, parasol and some lovely decor to make it a home from home feel. If I had the money to book again, we would do so! We will definitely book again when we plan to visit the island again. 
• -This is not their fault and it's only something that would be good for us and that is, we wish the balcony flowed to the door so we could hear the kids footsteps if we needed to run in. But that's only if we have to be picky! We didn't see this as a negative. [Sue/Jim clarification: our other caravan E54 Reflections-3 has a wraparound deck]

• +We had a lovely few days stay in this caravan in April. Booking of holiday and ferry was handled extremely efficiently by Sue and Jim. The van was spotless on arrival, and everything worked great. The sea views are stunning. We were very cosy with the small heaters and will definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

Email: We had a great week - ferry great, your place was immaculate as per usual and weather was good nearly the whole time - we got around the island, feeling our age now with all the walking! We tried some new spots and went back to Carisbrooke Castle (purposely on the one wet day we had) for the first time after over 10 years, joined English Heritage so we went to Osborne twice this time on arrival and leaving plus old favourites like Sandown zoo etc, Shanklin seafront and chine, Ventnor Botanic Gardens (where we saw a red squirrel which we were very happy about) Compton Bay, Brading Roman Villa and went back to eating & drinking places like Lu Shan in Bembridge, House of Spice Indian in Shanklin, Propeller Inn and the Dairyman's Daughter which where all very good. So as usual we had a really lovely time thanks.

ON-LINE REVIEW: The caravan had everything you could need and lots of extras which was very helpful. Home from home. The site was beautiful, clean and the setting was so peaceful. It was lovely to be able to walk down to the beach and the cafe was a bonus. It was centrally placed to visit all the popular resorts and there is a bus stop a short walk away. Lots of pubs and restaurants within a short drive especially the Best Dressed Crab in Bembridge where you can sit overlooking the sea eating crab and lobster, but you need to book. Lovely butcher/deli and bakers.

We had the most wonderful week,  your caravan is very comfortable and cosy. Could have done with another week!  Just as you are settling in and finding your way around the island, it's time to pack up and ho home.

We done so much.  Every day was an adventure and we also managed a lovely day on the beach at Sandown. 

It's been many years since we have been on the island,  our Children being young and having to keep them amused.

This time, we were able to do a few things for our own enjoyment like Osbourne house and Portsmouth war museum. 

Your caravan is in the perfect position.  So well equipped,  you thought of everything.  We were so happy when we saw the lovely green in front of us.  I rise quite early so was nice for me to sit outside in the morning enjoying the peace, and the view of the sea was an added bonus.

We would love to stay again maybe 2023.  We have a wedding in Spain next year.

- Having stayed previously in this caravan (Reflections-3) & indeed also Barefoot on the Beach I would highly recommend.  This time my Grown up daughter & her partner shared with us along with my elderly father Everything you might need is provided for it is very clean & comfortable with lovely hot showers  The site it’s self is lovely with beautiful views & very well maintained not to mention the fantastic beach just a small walk from the caravan  The owners are very helpful & always go beyond providing useful information for places to see & good food recommendations  Although the weather was mixed we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again having been many times before & hopefully will be back soon.

Email: Thanks very much – we had a lovely time and were very sad to have to come home (our son shed quite a few tears!). What an amazing setting for your caravan -so relaxing to sit at the table and look out across the site and then across to the sea. We appreciated being able to use the binoculars and telescope to see what sailed past. You asked before for feedback about the cleaners - the caravan was absolutely spotless and lovely to have basic supplies available on arrival (soap, toilet rolls, milk and tea bags).

Yes please do transfer over the holding deposit to a booking deposit for next year and I’m attaching the completed booking form.

I hope you get some lovely weeks or weekends over at your caravan this summer and look forward very much to going back there next year. We would have loved to have come back in October half-term but saw that was already taken – not surprisingly!

Email from home: Have just got in from staying a lovely time at you caravan. Thank you for letting us hire it , time always goes too quickly and we always come away wishing it could have been longer.The weather as been good to us, although it as been a bit breezy at times, but this as not stopped us getting round and about. The views of the bay and St Helens and the clean air we hope will get us through the winter months and we look forward to returning to the Island next year all being well.

We wish you both well in your ventures at Sandhills and hope the end of the season and next year are successful, especially with your new caravan.

Email 2: thank you for the use of your caravan and the return of the holding deposit.  From the notice on the window of the van, we see that you are resisting its position for the new coming season and wish you both the best with its new site. Hope your internet will have a stronger signal in the new location,  possible the trees were the problem with the signal break up.

My iPhone could pick up WhatsApp  voice and text from the lounge of the van, but had to go down by reception to make video calls to Australia (Skype video) to  my sister.and (WhatsApp video)  to our son and grandson in Manchester.

We found your van ever so warm with just back up heat from the 3 small oil filled radiators ( 2 in the lounge and one in the bedroom.

We did not use your quilt or pillows on the double bed, as we took our own Vango double sleeping bag and pillows, (I have a slight amount of spondylitis in my neck , so have a special pillow) and a fleece blanket which we found we did not need.

Hope we find you both and the family all well.
