About White Cross Bay...

The site is a beautiful wooded area on the Eastern shore of Lake Windermere, and our lodge is situated in a secluded little enclave, forming a part of a very picturesque, almost " village green" area and creating a neighbourly and yet private holiday environment.

Our lodge, Grasmere 6, is well sited within a stone’s throw of the reception centre, with its shop, family lounge bar with TV for the sports fans, restaurant and takeaway outlet, indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, gymnasium, amusement arcade, as well as a children’s play area and beer garden just outside and a games court for older children. There are also toilets, which can be important if someone is hogging the bathroom. There is a  launderette just past the games court on the way to “the hill” where there are some quaint old wooden lodges to dream about.

The site also has a beautiful picnic area and boating marina overlooking the lake in a Westerly direction, giving the opportunity to enjoy some amazing sunsets. The marina caters for craft both large and small, with the ability to launch your own boat down the slipway. There are also wooded walks within the site for that secluded bit of roaming which we all enjoy. There are also dog walking facilities specially signposted up in the trees.

About Grasmere 6...

Our lodge is very much a second home for us. Pictures, ornaments etc. all contribute to making the place homely and comfortable. We also leave a library and collections of videos and DVD’s to be used freely so that rainy days are never a problem. The main features of the lodge are as follows:

• Open plan lounge and dining room with two double-bed setees, coffee table, gas fire, 32 inch LED TV with Freeview, video, DVD and CD players, dining table and six chairs. The lights are on dimmers to improve that romantic feel when the kids are in bed. Wireless internet is accessible in the lodge.
• Well-equipped kitchen with gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, with more pots, pans, bowls, crockery and cutlery than you could possibly need. SORRY we don’t have a dishwasher yet.
• One double bedroom with vanity area, one twin bedroom with vanity area and one bedroom with two neat single beds. All rooms have fitted wardrobes and cupboards.
• Bathroom with shower (over bath), toilet, washbasin and heated towel rail.
• All rooms have electric radiators, and there is an iron and ironing board.
• Outside there is a raised patio area with large table and six outdoor chairs, as well as a covered front veranda with small table and two chairs. This is a great place to gather if the weather is “challenging”.
• We have a gas barbecue which is available for those people prepared to clean it afterwards.
• Alongside the lodge is parking for two vehicles and a grassed common area. We sometimes put the patio table down there when we have more visitors or when we have a disabled visitor.
• Sadly we don’t allow pets, except guide dogs, but sometimes we can bend our rule where a dog does not moult. Also we don’t accept groups under the age of 25.
• THIS IS A NO SMOKING LODGE
