Just 4 minutes walk from the caravan is the middle of the village of East Runton.

East Runton consists of : Two country Pubs, Fish & Chip Shop, Large Village Stores & Off licence (8 am – 9 pm) , Paper Shop and Cafe / Bistro, Butchers, Army surplus,  Unisex Hair Dressers,  Greek Restaurant and the  popular village club (Bernie’s) which usually has many nightly attractions including cash prize bingo, live music and quizzes.

Further into the village feels like you’ve taken a trip in Dr Who’s Tardis and gone back in time. You are greeted by the village pond full wild geese and ducks, old railways, beautiful scenery, old English cottages with flowery country gardens and miles of countryside to explore. All on your doorstep just minutes walk, or far enough away if you like to keep yourself to yourself.

  • Beach literally 2 minutes walk, and that’s really 2 minutes not a travel agents 2 minutes.  (you can see and hear the sea from the caravan)

Supplied: Iron, Ironing board, electric kettle, duvets (not duvet covers or sheets) and pillows (not pillow cases), cups, plates, glasses, knives forks, bowls, saucepans frying pan etc.

You supply duvet covers, pillow cases and towels. If you’re unsure whether you need to bring something, just email me and ask. Coin operated Laundry on-site (Washing Machine and Dryer).

This is an older caravan, hence the competitive prices, but is clean, tidy and I’ve been told homely, ideal for a break, i am not a fuss pot, i am willing to discuss pets i.e. small dogs etc.


Places nearby

Cromer is just 1.5 miles with its roots in the Victorian era, Cromer is a lovely combination of old and new. The seafront is a wonderful array of pretty bed and breakfasts dating back to the late 1800s giving the town a historic air. Beautiful landscaped cliff gardens, which bloom with colour during the summer months, overlook vast stretches of unspoilt beach. A small funfair positioned near the town is great for younger children while all ages will enjoy crabbing, a pastime that you will see along the spectacular pier. Cromer pier has been home to the Pavilion Theatre which puts on a range of shows including the End of the Pier Show in the summer, a fun event for all the family and now the last show of its kind. In the town there are many little shops to explore and, for the energetic, climb the 172 steps to the top of the mediaeval St Peter and St Paul’s Church where you will be rewarded with superb views across the surrounding area, beach and out to sea. Cromer pier has been used on variuos TV programs and films locations; In 1979 for  ITV television series, Danger UXB, starring Anthony Andrews.1993 ITV series September Song with Russ Abbott . 1972 The Flesh and Blood Show used the pier's theatre, in this horror thriller film . With Jenny Hanley and Ray Brooks .  2009 The LivingTV show Most Haunted visited the pier for their investigation in April. The episode, which investigated the piers paranormal activity, was shown later that year. Cromer pier and seafront also features in Tales Of The Unexpected episode Skeleton In The Cupboard Starring Charles Dance.

It also has plenty of nightlife for younger and those young at heart. Cromer has two zoos one of which is called Amazona and a large Cinema showing the latest films.

Cromer  won the coveted Blue Flag Award for 2010. The Blue Flag designation acts as a guarantee to tourists that the beach is one of the best in the world,

Sherringham a large bustling town is only 5 miles along the coast from East Runton is the quaint seaside town of Sheringham. It has a traditional feel and a relaxing atmosphere. The town focuses around the main high street where you will find some wonderful shops and some excellent fish and chip restaurants and ice cream parlours selling just about every flavour imaginable! At one end of the town you will find a small train station where you can board the North Norfolk Railway. At the other end, take a stroll along the cliff tops and from here you will get great views down to the beach, made up of a ridge of pebbles and beautiful clean washed sands. Sherringham also has many lively pubs offering all types of entertainment.

Norwich is about 35 minutes by car or a short journey direct by bus.

Owned and operated by the Babbage family for over thirty years, Gap Caravan Park is a great place for family holidays, situated adjacent to the beach and just a few minutes walk from East Runton Village centre.

There's plenty of things to see and do around East Runton, horse riding, fishing, tennis, golf and miles of beach for soaking up the sun or building sand castles.

Close by there is the town of Cromer, with its Blue Flag sandy beaches, pier, museum, lifeboat and the famous end of pier 'Seaside Special' shows.

Sheringham, a short five minute drive away is a busy seaside town. It has the 'Splash' Leisure Pool and the North Norfolk Steam Railway to take a ride on to the Georgian town of Holt.

Whatever time of year you choose to holiday at Gap Caravan Park you are sure of a warm welcome and you are bound to find plenty to see and do and one thing is certain - one visit is never enough.
