Fishing
If you are new to fishing then you should head to Tower Knowe or Leaplish visitor centres where you can pick up the required permits and a fishing starter pack.Tokens are required to fish on the burns. These can be purchased at Kielder Castle Visitor Centre as part of the Tyne Angling Passport.

Water Sports
Kielder Water is the largest man-made lake in northern Europe it attracts many for water activities. Water activities such as canoeing, sailing, and water skiing are provided (seasonally) by professional clubs and Calvert Trust Kielder. Each of these activities must be pre-booked in advance.

Wildlife & Nature
The sheer variety of habitats in Kielder Water & Forest Park, from woodland to marshy grasslands and bogs, create homes for a whole host of wildlife and is impressive and unique in the UK. Explorers can expect to encounter badgers, roe deer, otters, shrews, seven species of bat, many woodland birds and, especially in spring, birds of prey including ospreys.
